BPB co 63ft MGB "POLISH" S2 ex MGB 44 also S3 ex MGB 45 & MGB 43 "S" meaning Scigacze/Fast Hunter This is a new model we can offer based on the RAF Whaleback A/SR Launch. We have re-tooled the vac-formed wheelhouse with the correct roof radius and cabin length. We have done our best to make it a scale model using the Whaleback plans for the basic layout and position of the main deck fittings common to all Whaleback hulls. The rest of the information to complete this model, we have used photos from various publications and a drawing that was sent to us by an ex-crew member.
This is a representation of how MGB S2 ex MGB 44 Looks New build for MGB-S2 2006
We now have the hull complete with props shaft , rudder, battery box and boxes for all the radio gear in place. The deck has also been fitted, made from 30 thou plastic card. the wheel house has been cut out and fitted to the deck line. For this model we have produce a new gun kit for the Vickers .500" MG in a power tub. Photos will be posted of both boat and gun kit
The picture of S2 above is the same configuration as our plan and future model, this photo was found on a polish web site for "S2"

There was little work in the way of dressing the hull mould when it come from PBM, just getting the deck line correct. We have again gone for a single motor (Graupner 600 ECO) and shaft, 35mm standard prop and a 7.2 volt Ni-Cad battery pack. A single rudder is used just behind the prop. The wheelhouse is our revised mould from the RAF Whaleback, the "hump" is a PBM product cut and shaped to fit the wheelhouse and gun tub. A plastic card deck has again been used to cut down on time spent prepping a marine ply deck. _______________________________________________________________________
June 22nd 2006 The model as to date: the hull is now complete below deck level, I have yet to try her out on the pool. The flak mats were shaped and cut whistle they were still soft from the mould. We will again be making new fittings/moulds for this model as we go along. A fitting I will try to make will be the toe rail on the fore deck. ________________________________________________________________________________

Two new fittings will be added to the list for this model, to include the toe rail on the fore deck and a grab rail on the forward wheelhouse. _________________________________________________________________________ BPB co 63ft MGB 43 After several correspondents with Mr. Marshall during July, a fair amount of information and details have been gained and added to this website. Mr. John Marshall joined the Royal Navy in 1937, in 1943 he was post to Coastal Forces MGB 43 in 1943 as the radio operator/signaller. Although his time on MGB43 was around six months, he sore a fair amount of action out of Dover. MGB 43 was berthed at the old railway ferry port in Dover till the new purpose built "Submarine Pen" style berths we open. The crew lived in the "Lord Warden Hotel" whilst at the old ferry port the above the berths in the new pens. MGB 43 was part of the 3rd Flotilla in 1943 along with her 63ft MGB sisters "Polish crewed S2 & S3" I have to say it is very hard to find photos from the internet on these boats, I will do my best to keep searching for more photos. Mr. Marshall has given me a list of the crew member that he can remember! Skipper: Lieutenant Raleigh (RNVR) 1st Lt/Navigator : Sub Lt Bone (RNVR) Cox'n : Able Seaman Barker .5" Vickers Gunner: Able Seaman Marshall Radio Operator: Able Seaman J. Marshall With over sixty years past, memories fade from his days of being a young man of 19/20 in Coastal Forces during 1943. From the information given and the few photos out of various publications it will be possible to complete our model as MGB 43 as a thank you to Mr. Marshall. August 27th 2006
